B U D A

The BUDA award is a unique biennial exhibition that presents the work of professional and student Metal Smiths vying for a series of awards and is the leading event in Australia for the promotion of contemporary gold and silversmiths and jewellers.

It aims to encourage, foster and promote excellence in design and innovation in Australian metalwork as well as cultivate an understanding and appreciation of Gold & Silversmithing to a wider audience, whilst celebrating the traditions of the craft in a contemporary context.

Graduate Metal 13 is an award exhibition of final year works from recent graduates around Australia. A key JMGA initiative and juried survey exhibition that fosters emerging talent and draws attention to the achievements of recent graduates, the exhibition was a feature in the satellite program of the 2013 JMGA biennial conference, Participation + Exchange.

JMGA is the Jewellers and Metalsmiths Group of Australia Annual Conference. This conference focused on the past, present and future of contemporary jewellery and objects in Australia and the Pacific and further, with a particular emphasis on West Australia’s practitioners and history.
