About the Artist

Liv Boyle Jeweller Image by Fred Kroh 2020.jpg

Aotearoa New Zealand / Naarm Melbourne, Australia.

Always near water, Liv combs the edges of rivers, lakes and coastlines for stories that reveal our relationship to land and sea. Drawing the common and rare together, her chosen materials reflect observations concerning industry and the environment.

Liv makes jewellery to celebrate the connection between people, culture, and planet.

Transforming discrete materials into contemporary jewellery and object, collecting and re-imagining detritus that speaks of its environment.

Collaboration underpins and enriches Liv’s research-based practice. Her work investigates key ephemeral sites, often referencing indicator species in changing ecosystems.

Liv completed a BFA in Sculpture at Elam School of Fine Arts, University of Auckland (2005), and an Advanced Diploma of Jewellery Engineering at Melbourne Polytechnic (2013). She has exhibited internationally, including the ITAMI International Contemporary Jewellery Exhibition in Japan (2013 & 2017), and was a finalist for the Australian National Contemporary Jewellery Award (2018).

I acknowledge the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation as the traditional owners of the lands and waters where I am privileged to live and work. I recognise the sovereignty of Aboriginal and First Nations people remains unceded in this country. I pay my respects to their Elders, past, present, and emerging.
